Though the Cullinan Waterfront was not the most luxurious hotel in Cape Town, it is well placed for the business I was conducting in the City Center. It was a short walk down the waterfront to most of the business locations I needed to go to, and had a wonderful view of Table Mountain. They had excellent security staff with a visible presence all the way around the hotel, and helpful staff at the concierge desk. The view of the harbor was also excellent, the QE III showed up while I was there and it was visible from my window. The famous Cape Town W&A Waterfront was just a few blocks away and a cab ride to the table top mountain took 15 minutes. The service at the hotel was very good and the rooms comfortable and functional.

It offers excellent shopping and nearby attractions including Sun City, the gold mines museum, and Pretoria. Visitors should use caution when driving (left hand side) and be aware of the high crime in certain parts of the city. The nearby Sterkfontein Caves, South of the Hartbeespoort Damcontain a rich collection of fossils, and what is believed to be the oldest human skull ever found, over 2.6 million years old! Many believe this area to be the true cradle of mankind.
