La Colombe Cafe
Class Of Restaurant Voted by Business Day as South Africa’s best restaurant two years in a row. In my opinion, it deserves the highest of restaurant ratings and is certainly worth a visit.
Cost Very reasonable for the cuisine offered. This was the most expensive meal we enjoyed in South Africa, but by all accounts, worth twice the price.
Type Of Restaurant French Provencal
DÉCor-Ambiance Housed in a restored breakfast room, with views of the pool and cricket fields.
Cocktail Selection And Prices There was a selection of cocktails available from the hostess.Instead, we chose to enjoy a glass of sparkling wine.
Wine Selection And Prices Wonderful selection of South African wines. We chose a savory Merlot to accompany our springbok. The full-bodied wine was a terrific value and presented at just the right temperature. As with most of the South African wines, the quality was excellent and the prices reasonable.

Quality Of Food The food and presentation were professional and worthy of a fine Parisian restaurant. The springbok was tender and tasty with a delightful sauce and just enough spice to accent the flavors. The vegetables were fresh and flavorful.
Service The service was prompt, courteous and professional.
