Hard Rock Hotel Orlando
Overall: I enjoyed my stay at the Hard Rock Hotel. It was new, clean and full of fun rock themed decorations; the staff was attentive. The staff at the concierge floor common room could have done a better job. They spent too much time in conversation with each other and not enough looking after their guests. Otherwise, I thought the hotel was a great buy and wonderful place to stay near the attractions. My favorite hotel stay in Orlando. Year opened/renovated: January 2001 Owned and Operated: Loews Hotels Class of accommodation: AAA Four diamonds Size: 620 non-smoking and 30 smoking rooms on 7 floors, Handicapped accessible rooms and phone lines for hearing impaired Ease of reserving a room: Arranged through a third party. Check-in/check-out process ease: : Check-in and checkout was fast and efficient. We upgraded to a concierge floor at their suggestion and were pleased. Language: English Lobby and common areas: :"California mission estate" Hard Rock themed ambiance, music and decoration, including all original paintings and drawings. We appreciated the many small touches and custom features.
Facilities: Four restaurants and a lounge; an artificial sand beach and adjacent pool including a waterslide, Jacuzzi, and underwater music; rock music throughout the hotel common areas including the pool with a 12-speaker underwater sound system; rock and roll memorabilia throughout the property; room service; ping-pong; express access to rides with room key; health center with work out equipment; and Hard Rock Hotel souvenir shop. ATM machine available in the lobby. Room service 24 hours a day. Though it was not available when we visited the Hard Rock, not even on the Club floor, currently Wayport High speed Internet access is available in all rooms Conference Facilities:: Good, including 6,000 square feet of meeting room space Pool and/or Beach: The pool area was attractive, with cabanas, underwater music, jacuzzi and great landscaping. There is an artificial sand beach with volleyball and waterslide. Restaurants: Four restaurants and a lounge. The meals we had were acceptable hotel food with a variety of dining choices and attentive staff. Noise level was high the times we visited. Other: It was nice to have a CD player in the room; even if it meant walking all the way to the Club floor room to borrow CD's. A family oriented hotel, offering comfort and luxury with a rock and roll theme. There was constant rock music everywhere and common areas were bustling with activity. It was one of my more pleasant stays in Orlando. For us as tourists and visitors, the quick access to the nearby Disney area made it convenient and complimentary water taxis (and buses) offered an alternative when we preferred to ride in comfort instead of walking (10 minutes). They also kept the Loews Orlando hotels (Hard Rock, Portofino and Royal Pacific) connected. Wonderful benefits we did not have time for was Universal Express preferred access to theme rides; and the room key special charging privileges, which allowed guests to buy food and merchandise at Universal properties in Orlando. Pet Friendly property. Length of stay: three days Date of review: September 2002 Would you stay again? Yes |
