How Hang it around neck and switch it on during flight.
Effect I found the "decontaminated" air (created by ionic plasma technology) pleasant, and certainly preferable to the various odors on a crowded airplane. The device is small and unobtrusive, comfortable and hardly noticeable around the neck. When sitting reading on the plane, I found it to be in just the right spot to provide fresh clean air in my little "bubble". I do not know for sure if it destroys disease causing germs. Statistics show that as many as 20 percent of all passengers become ill during or after air travel, so it seems worth it to me to wear the inconspicuous filter to diminish or avoid the risks.
Other The battery is a small 3V (Camera type lithium 123) which is less common than other shapes and designs. This saves weight, but may be inconvenient to replace in some areas, particularly overseas. I will take a spare with me on my next trip. According to the promotional flyers it was tested at the School of Microbiology at University of California in Los Angeles and The Travel Medicine Center found to reduce germ colony growth by 90 percent. It is counter indicated for children under 8 years old or infirm elderly. The promotional materials also refer patients with pacemakers and those with chronic or acute respiratory ailments to consult their physicians.Unit includes a one-year warranty.
